About the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a new way to support Australians with disability, and make sure everyone has the support they need to enjoy an ordinary life. The NDIS scheme supports people with a permanent and significant disability to take part in everyday activities. This includes people whose disability is an intellectual, sensory or physical impairment, or psychiatric condition.

Carers QLD – have a number of offices across Brisbane. They are the main point of contact for the NDIS to help people with a disability connect to supports, services and local activities. They also help participants understand the NDIS, meet with participants to create their plan and explain how to make the most of it.
